What is the implant surface modification by the excimer UV?
UV Surface modification for dental implant
Excimer presents an advanced Excimer UV product capable of super osseo integration by the improved biocompatibility through enhanced success rate and stability of the surface of titanium for dental implant treatment. Through surface modifications on the implant material by the Excimer UV system, improvement in the affinity (wettability)between the implant body and the blood is realized. This is advantageous to acquire osseo integration. Excimer UV causes cutting of organic bonding on the surface of implant surface. Excimer UV is capable of improving performance of implant better by removing substances blocking wettability
through the reaction of active oxygen and ozone gas from the surface of implant surface.
Excimer UV is capable of improving performance of implant better by removing substances blocking
wettability through the reaction of active oxygen and ozone gas from Excimer UV which produces gas
of 10 times more ozone gas in comparison with a conventional mercury lamp. As a result, affinity
improves with an implant body surface and blood. The associativity with the bone improves and thereby
contributes to Super Osseo integration.
Excellence in comparison with conventional techniques
In the shorter wavelength light, the performance improvement of surface-reforming becomes higher through processes, such as organic bonding to be cut, decomposition and reaction,
in comparison with a conventional mercury UV. In addition, conventional mercury UV needs to be heated up for several minutes before the maximum output is reached. In case of Excimer UV system, however, the maximum output can be reached only in 2 minutes.
